Rainbow ski area

On Wednesday I went to Rainbow ski area for the day. It took 2 hours to get to the ski area but we got there before the end of the day (I got rather sick on the way there by the way). When we arrived, dad went to hire some skis for me and mum. When I had my ski gear on, dad showed mum, Ed and me how to move around on skis (my dad used to be a ski instructor in Queenstown but he soon came back to Nelson). I soon started to go down the beginners slope (not from the top) but I would often fall over. I had a little break and had some morning tea and watched dad go down Goats track ( which is the tallest slope of all). I saw a kea while I ate except it wouldn't fly away. My brother got sick so we had to pack up and go home. I had a really cool time!

My KCC fossil hunt

I'm a member of Kiwi Conservation Club (KCC for short) that looks after native birds and trees. I've just joined in so this was my first trip ever. This time we went searching for fossils but the only thing we found was a petrified tree. We found lots of colourful rocks and stones too. Soon we turned back to hear a speech from a friend of my dad (who works with him at Kea hut) named Steve. Steve talked to us about how fossils are made and some different types of rock that the Maori made lots of tools and other stuff with. After this we were meant to do some games and find worm casts but the tide came in too quickly. Kina beach (which was where we went to do this) was a very fun place to be. My 2011 christmas holiday

In the December holidays my family goes to Dunedin to see my grandparents. All my uncles and aunts (my mums family) and cousins come to see our family. We stop at Ashburton and order a motel to stay in. In 2011 we went to a paddalling pool. We would have perfered a bigger and deeper pool but it was the only one we could find. Anyway we left for Dunedin early in the morning. Finalley at three o'clock we arrived at my granparents house. I was sooo excited when I saw them and I couldn't wait till tomorrow when we went to the airport to pick up my cousins (their names are Poppy and Jean) who come from Wellington. At last we went to the airport and picked them up. Ahhh the things we did together like going to Moana Pool the Pirate playground the Otago Museum and Caburys Choclate Factroy tours at eleven o'clock. We spent three weeks at Dunedin so you bet it was very sad when everyone left. We had awesome time!

Purple cake day

It was Purple Cake Day on the first of March at school. I was part of the Purple Cake Day choir. Parents were selling purple iced cupcakes.
